“A town….” I mutter.

It’s almost night time. We’re still in this thick freaking forest, and we find a town. It’s inside the forest. They didn’t just clear cut the area either. The houses are built in between the trees. They cut only enough to make room.

“Fuck yea!” I call out.

“At least there’s something for civilization…” Jesse sighs.

He really can’t take this culture shock thing.

Pansy.

It’s a smallish town. They seem to live on their secluded selves.

And with a shiver up my spine, I’m no longer happy. Going closer smells like death to me.

Way Too Long of a Walk - Chapter 1

And this is the end to me having any chance of sleeping well tonight.

I face planted the dirt, bringing my two buddies down with me as we were sword fighting. Okay, not sword fighting. We use broom-sticks, carve them out a bit to be wedged like swords and beat the ever living crap out of each other. This meant plenty of bruising and bleeding. But hell, fun is fun and we get some exercise out of it.

But right now, that doesn’t mean much when we’re stuck in a cage with a bunch of guys with crossbows outside ready to fire.

Obviously, we’re not in a forest anymore either. We “trained” in the Wellfields. It’s a small hiking and biking trail near a water treatment plant. Makes for a good secluded area to do random acts of stupidity without being seen. But close enough to civilization in case we need medics.

“Good morning primitives!” Calls out some guy. He comes up and takes a gander at us on the ground. Read the rest of this entry »
